The results of the questionnaire after the premier

Question 1: 

This was asked to see the amount of people who enjoyed the film opening.

From this questionnaire we found out that everybody who watched our film enjoyed it.

Question 2: 

We used a likert scale to see how effective the audience thought the music was. 

(1 being not effective - 10 being very effective)

With highest the score of effectiveness from the responses being 9 this shows that music as quite important in a movie.

Question 3:  

This was a personal opinion of which classification rating the audience would give our film.

This graph shows that most people gave our film opening a classification of a 12:

 How well did you think the setting went with the story?

We used another likert scale to do this (1 being not at all - 10 being very well) 

From these results most people thought the film went quite well, but from looking at the results, we could of perhaps chosen a better setting.

As you can see from the pie chart below the most popular genre circled was horror and thriller was the second most popular, we were pleased with these results, because it shows we were right in choosing this genre because it was a favourite among our peers.

This graph shows that a varied responce towards the scariness of the film.

The lower responses could of been due to the lack of violence and gore in generic horror movies, but the higher score show that we were doing the right thing.

Our results showed that everyone invited to the premiere and that answered this questionnaire wanted to see more.

Location

The location for our piece was in the wikenby woods the reason for choosing this location was because it was at opportunity because a member of my group lives near here so we were able to go there to film.

We also had to use willingham woods, because this was closer to school so we could go there more often.

Characters/Casting

In our original plan, the characters were:

• The Villian - Gemma Chambers
• Poppy - Emma Snowdon
• Brooke - Megan Deighton
• Kurt - Ashley Scott
• Kyle - Thomas Burley
• Sid - Guy Williams

But because we decided to take out the camp scene due to time reasons, so the new character list is:

•  The Villian - Gemma Chambers
• Sid - Guy Williams
• Kurt - James Beasley 

 But because of the fact that a naive audience member would not be able to differentiate between Guy and James, so we removed James.

The final casting is:

Planning - Ideas.

For this piece of coursework I was in a group of 3 people, Gemma Chambers and Megan Deighton were the 2 other people in my group.

From the very start of planning we decided that we wanted the genre we prefered was Horrer/Thriller type.

The original idea was to make a comedy horror movie, but we decided against this idea, because we found it difficult to do, so in the end we decided on a serious horror.

The original idea, which we have pretty much stuck to, was to film our opening scene in the woods, at night time. The reason for it being at night time was that it was about a group of friends that go camping in a forest, because people associate dark night time and the woods with fear.

In our original extract we were going to film a scene of where you saw the entire camp, but we didn't do this because we wouldn't of had enough time to introduce all of the characters.

The general idea of this piece was that one of the friends disappears into the woods, and then the others go off to try and find him. A movie that influenced us to have this idea was 'The Wrong Turn'



because this movie was about a group of friends going on a road trip, and they take a 'wrong turn' and the friends split up to go find help.
